A patent expert in the field of chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology and health sciences, he joined PONTI in 2006. He is a registered European Patent Attorney since 2012.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry from the University of Barcelona. He concentrates his practice on drafting and prosecuting Spanish, European and International patent applications in the chemical / pharmaceutical/biotechnological industry and related areas. He also carries out infringement studies, freedom to operate reports, technology watches, validity opinions, Intellectual Property counselling, as well as drafting supplementary protection certificates. He is responsible for patent portfolios in the fields of biotechnology, medical chemistry, molecular biology and materials.
He is a member of the European Patent Institute (EPI).
He has taught the subject “Patents and applications in biotechnology” in the Master “Biotechnology applied to the pharmaceutical and related industry” at the Institut Universitari de Ciència i Tecnologia, SA (2013 – 2019) and has given talks on patents in ACCIÓ (Agència per la Competitivitat de l’Empresa), Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital, Teknon Foundation and University of Barcelona, among others.
His working languages are: Spanish, Catalan and English. In addition, he has a B2 level in German and A2 in Russian.
