Canada member country of the Hague Convention

Canada has become the 69th member country of the Hague Convention for the Protection of International Designs, after having deposited the corresponding instrument of accession on July 16.

Thus, as of November 5, 2018, Canadian companies and designers will be able to benefit from a unique design application system managed by the World Intellectual Property Office to protect their creations in up to 83 countries. Similarly, foreign applicants will be able to obtain protection for their designs in Canada more easily and economically by applying for an international design that includes Canada.
