June 22, 2018, 09.30h – Conference: Intellectual Property in the Global Hubs of Innovation. Barcelona Tech City.
Barcelona is well positioned as one of the hubs of technological innovation in Europe, but regarding the volume of patent applications it occupies a modest 50th place in the ranking of global cluster cities, according to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
Patents, in addition to being an exclusive right, are also an indicator of technological leadership and a factor for attracting financing and knowledge. Next June 22 we will analyze, with the main actors of the system, how intellectual property and, especially, patents are relevant for the growth of technology-based Start Ups and how their incorporation into a sustained strategy can create value to a business project.
