On 8 December 2018 the European Commission published the Counterfeit and Piracy Watch List.
This report identifies a number of virtual and physical sites, especially those outside the EU, with a very high volume of illegal commercial transactions. Its objective is to establish surveillance and action measures between all competent authorities inside and outside the EU, as well as to raise public awareness. The Commission is committed to providing regular updates and reporting on any progress in the prosecution of such infringing behaviour.
The list includes references to websites such as “ThePirateBay.org” or others based on Bit Torrent technology, applications such as “Popcorn Time”, e-commerce platforms such as “Bukalapak” or “Snapdeal”, and on-line pharmacies such as “pharmacy-xl.com” or “PharmaWeb”.
