The Spanish Patent and Trademark Office has published the second volume of the book “La Propiedad Industrial y su influencia en el éxito empresarial – Volumen 2”. It is a compilation of 21 success stories of Spanish SMEs in the management of Intellectual Property, which provides concrete and inspiring examples of how companies in different sectors such as Ficosa, Desigual, Grupo Premo or Zumex have relied on the protection and strategic management of trademarks, patents and designs to conquer new markets and customers.
As several previous studies have already shown, SMEs that use Intellectual Property assets to protect and exploit their innovations are best positioned to obtain financing, export their products and services to different markets and attract and retain the best talent.
The Spanish SMEs included in this book are no exception and all of them have several common denominators: the capacity to reinvent and adapt to new technological changes and to the changing needs of clients thanks to their high creativity and originality, an advanced level of internationalisation and a large investment in R+D+i.
The protection and management of Intellectual Property means for all of them the guarantee that their efforts in innovation are a source of new and sustained sales and customers around the world.
