New domain *.app

The top-level domain *.app is aimed at designers, developers of mobile applications (apps) and, in general, at companies that use these platforms for developing their business models.

Given that the *.app domain is owned by Google, owing this domain may imply a better positioning in its search engine. In a first priority stage, from March 29 to April 30, 2018, the holders of trademarks previously registered in the Trademark Clearinghouse will be able to register this domain.

As of May 8, in the so-called free phase, any natural or legal person will be able to obtain the .app domain on a first-come first-served basis.
