As from next June 1 2018, PONTI will have a working space in Barcelona Tech City, one of the reference hubs of technological innovation in southern Europe hosting Start Ups, corporate accelerators and new innovation projects on digital technologies, such as the Payments Hub or the 5G Lab. It also hosts mVentures, an initiative of Barcelona Mobile World Capital to support new companies in areas such as artificial intelligence, IoT, virtual reality or Blockchain.
In the new era of innovation, intangible assets, among which intellectual property rights (trademarks, patents or designs) occupy a prominent place, now represent about 85% of the value in the most important companies, compared to a 17% at the end of last century. In this new context, different studies highlight the correlation between the ownership of brands, patents and designs by SMEs and/or innovative Start Ups and their ability to attract financing, conquer new markets, multiply sales or attract and retain talent. Also, with the creation of more and better paid jobs.
